The Challenge

Our customer, a payment services provider, was preparing for a strategic business acquisition involving the target company’s IPR. This included a mobile app that would have the potential to extend the customer’s key digital offering.

They needed to conduct an independent technology evaluation to fully understand the app’s further development potential. They also needed to understand the app’s licensing, quality, lifecycle and maintenance aspects – as well as any risks, dependencies, and requirements to be aware of.

The Solution

Asteroid reviewed the software using an established methodology consisting of interviews, static code analysis using automated tooling, and hands-on expert evaluation of the codebase, system architecture, and development practices.

The Results

Our review was done within the estimated timeline. We presented a report covering both the key qualitative and quantitative findings that enabled the customer to make an informed decision about moving forward with the acquisition.
